North Carolina GOP Governor Front-runner Hates the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, Claiming Loss of Freedoms
The first Black lieutenant governor of North Carolina Mark Robinson whom is expected to be the Republican candidate in the 2024 gubernatorial race, has expressed strong criticism towards the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. He has stated that he believes many freedoms were lost during this movement, and has referred to it as the "so-called" Civil Rights Movement.
According to a CNN KFile investigation of his media appearances in the past five years, Mark Robinson made unfounded claims that the Civil Rights Movement was a communist scheme to undermine capitalism and used as a means to restrict individual choice, such as where to attend school.
Mark Robinson expressed many of his views on the "Politics and Prophecy" podcast, which is hosted by Chris Levels on the radio station Freedomizer Radio. The radio station's slogan is "Freedomists Freedomizing Freedom". Chris Levels is a conspiracy theorist who has shared posts related to 9/11 conspiracy theories on Facebook, referred to the Olympics as an event controlled by the Illuminati from Satan, and shared posts claiming that Jews hold significant power in various aspects of society, amongst other heinous and odd things.
Mark Robinson's critical comments about the Civil Rights Movement, which have not been reported before, are in contrast to his recent statements praising his hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina as a significant location of the movement. Greensboro is famous for the 1960 Woolworth lunch counter sit-in protests initiated by four Black students, and one of these students, Clarence Henderson, later became a friend of Robinson after he began his political career.
This all comes after much debate regarding whether or not Republicans legitimately support civil rights at large, despite claiming themselves that they indeed do. Despite the claims made, republicans at large absolutely refuse to condemn Mark Robinson, and are expected to vote for him en masse in the upcoming North Carolina election, despite inevitably painting an even more horrid image of the conservative side of politics. This all comes in the aftermath of many other Inconsistencies between what conservatives claim they believe, and what their actions actually suggest.
