GOP South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace, Loudly Gabs about Premarital Sex at Christian Prayer Breakfast - Still Intends to be Part of GOP That Discriminates Against Trans Individuals for Similar Acts.
Rep. Nancy Mace, a member of the Republican Party representing South Carolina, chose to forgo an intimate morning with her fiancé, Patrick Bryant, to ensure she arrived on time for her state's yearly prayer breakfast, despite the inherent massive hypocrisy in acknowledging that she has enjoyed premarital intimate moments with her significant other. During the event hosted by Sen. Tim Scott, which aimed to celebrate their Christian faith, Mace humorously acknowledged that her decision to skip the morning's private time with her fiancé might be sharing "a little too much information.
“I woke up this morning at 7 .... Patrick, my fiance, tried to pull me by my waist over this morning in bed and I was like, 'No baby, we don't got time for that”, and “He can wait. I'll see him later tonight,".
Nancy Mace later tweeted in response to her coverage that “I go to church because I'm a sinner not a saint!” and “Glad those in attendance, including @SenatorTimScott and my pastor, took this joke in stride. Pastor Greg and I will have extra to talk about on Sunday."
Mace is publicly a practicing nondenominational Christian, and has relied on the hardline religious vote in the past to allow her to win elections. Premarital sex is however, a sin within Christian religions, and it’s one that is particularlly taken seriously among the hard line Christians within the country.
Despite this hypocrisy, there is also more. Mace has famously been a part of several anti-LGBTQ campaigns, including signing a bill that prevented LGBTQ individuals from obtaining various federal nondiscrimination protections. Modern day conservatives have famously cracked down hard as of late on LGBTQ human rights, in large part because of a fear of trans individuals speaking openly about sexual experiences, in much the same fashion as representative Mace has done. Conservatives have also gone as far as threatening terroroist attacks against innocent civilians for the cause.
Despite the hypocrisy displayed on a great many levels, conservatives are expected to fully support the South Carolina representative, and continue to discriminate against trans individuals for a fear of them speaking openly about sexual experiences.
