Popular Post on Conservative Subreddit Implies LGBTQ Children are No Different to Hitler Youth, Gains Massive Conservative Support
The conservative subreddit had a popular post on Reddit today, receiving thousands of upvotes before it was removed without a trace from the platform. In the post, A picture of Hitler youth is displayed, contrasted with children in the modern day holding up LGBTQ pride flags. The intention of the post is clearly to give off the impression to viewers that since LGBTQ children also like flags in a picture, and since there is also a picture of Hitler youth holding up flags, that they must therefore be the same or very much near it.
The post roared to the top of the conservative subreddits charts, which is one of the most popular online spaces in the United States for conservatives to congregate, share ideas, and post memes such as this, which in many instances discriminate against innocent people, and in this case children. It is unknown why the post was removed from the subreddit after gaining so much popularity, but it stands to reason that moderators likely found the post to be pushing the envelope a little too much, although in all fairness that is conjecture. HypocriTea has sent a message to the moderators asking for clarification as to why the post was removed and will update this story if we do hear back.
This is the latest in a long string of attacks, and general agreement among conservatives that LGBTQ people deserve less human rights than non LGBTQ individuals, with the focus being set squarely on trans individuals in particular. This all despite conservatives proclaiming a great many times that they generally are the party of personal liberty and freedom. Conservatives are strongly not expected to start supporting the human rights of LGBTQ people in earnest, and to not recognize the disconnect between their stated values and the values expressed within their actions.
In other news, conservatives have recently successfully canceled a drag time story hour by threatening to launch terrorist attacks, and have refused to criticize Desantis’s board for fighting to make Disney tourists unprotected in the event of a mass shooting.
