Unexpected Turn: Texas High School Forced to Reschedule Graduation Due to Allegedly Only 5 Eligible Graduates. Conservatives Silent, Despite Blaming Liberal Leadership in Past
Marlin High School in Marlin, Texas, has made the decision to postpone its graduation ceremony until June in order to provide additional time for students to fulfill graduation requirements. Out of 33 seniors at the school, a staggering 28 did not meet the necessary criteria due to issues with attendance records and grades.
The Marlin Independent School District released a statement affirming their commitment to supporting students and providing the resources they need. The rescheduled graduation date is viewed as a demonstration of this commitment. The district's Chief Academic Officer, Nikisha Edwards, mentioned that the implementation of a four-day school week was aimed at boosting instruction, student engagement, and reducing absences.
A mandatory meeting was held for parents of seniors on Wednesday to discuss the situation. Superintendent Darryl Henson expressed the school's unwavering dedication to excellence, stating that they firmly believe in the potential of every student in Marlin ISD. He emphasized that the students would be held to the same high standards as any other student in Texas.
Conservatives have been fully silent in criticizing Texas leadership for this move, refusing to criticize the governor, or absolutely any other aspects of the conservative leadership whatsoever. This, despite jumping at every opportunity to criticize liberal leadership the countrywide, whenever the opportunity arises in several ways, or in ways unrelated to schools directly.
